Create a commitment for your team in Podz
Mandates name what must not drift; commitments are the owned promises that prove you are tending them. Task trackers stop at to-dos. Responsibility management adds due dates, owners, and copies to the people who need to act.
When to create a commitment
Use commitments for work that has a clear deliverable and an owner: confirm family outreach after an event, publish the season schedule, file grant evidence. If it would hurt when it goes quiet, it belongs in the commitment layer — not a sticky note.
Watch: create a commitment everyone can see
From Work, open Commitments, create a new commitment, set details and due date, and give copies to your roster.
Step-by-step (matches the video)
- Open Work from the sidebar and select the Commitments tab.
- Click Create New Commitment.
- Enter a title and expand details if you need description or context.
- Set a due date and choose how work gets done (shape) and who receives a copy (roster source).
- Save — the commitment appears on the list and rolls into mandate health signals.
Connect events and commitments
Events generate follow-through. After check-in, create commitments like "Contact no-shows from kickoff" under the mandate that event serves. That is how attendance data becomes owned work instead of a report no one reads.
